Diversity and Inclusion Statement
NLUD Journal on ‘Labour’ is a double bind peer-reviewed academic journal managed and published by the Centre for Labour Law Research and Advocacy, NLU Delhi. Recognising the underrepresentation of scholars from marginalised and vulnerable communities in legal academia, the journal’s editorial board is committed to fostering diversity and inclusivity.
NLUD Journal on Labour ‘Diversity and Inclusion Statement’ outlines efforts to actively address unconscious bias that may compromise the integrity of the editorial process. It serves to educate editors, authors, and reviewers on identifying and mitigating such biases. Everyone associated with the journal, whether as an author, reviewer, or editor, is expected to familiarise themselves with and adhere to the principles of this Statement.
The members of the NLUD Journal on ‘Labour’ practise the following to help strive for greater transparency and diversity:

All editors and members of the journal’s team are required to take the Implicit Association Test so as to identify and rectify various manifestations of unconscious bias.

The editorial team focuses on mitigating unconscious bias based on caste, race, gender, class, ethnicity or any other identity or attributes.

The journal follows a rigorous double-blind peer review process where complete anonymity about the identity of the author is maintained.

The editorial team regularly conducts internal briefings to raise awareness about unconscious bias.

The team also periodically review the individual and team efforts to eliminate unconscious bias.

NLUD Journal on ‘Labour’ is committed to ensure just and fair intellectual acknowledgement through citations, regardless of race, gender, class, caste, ethnicity, professional standing, or other categorical attributes.

Our editors and peer reviewers are instructed to ensure that submissions reflect inclusive and representative citational practices.

NLUD Journal on ‘Labour’ Peer Review Policy provides for the positive duty of the editorial board to invite a representative cohort of peer reviewers with due regard to gender and social diversity.
