Panel discussion – Unpaid Care Work and Women Labour: Challenges to the ‘Entitlement’ Discourse

This panel discussion was the fourth one under the Labour Law Discussion Series, with a special focus on unpaid care work and women’s labour. The main agenda of the panel discussion was to break the shackles of societal descriptions around unpaid care work which mostly shape people’s idea of the said concept, and move towards the recognition of the work, along with the reduction and redistribution of the work. Panelists included the following experts:

1. Dr. Sona Mitra – Principal Economist, Initiative for What Works to Advance Women and Girls in the Economy (IWWAGE) 2. Dr. Dipa Sinha – Asst. Professor, Dr B.R. Ambedkar University, Delhi 3. Dr. Ellina Samantroy – Fellow, V.V. Giri National Labour Institute, Noida 4. Ms. Vishishta Sam – National Project Coordinator, Care Economy at International Labour Organization (ILO)
