The Labour Law Journal is published annually and includes articles, comments, and book reviews. We accept submissions from students pursuing undergraduate or post graduate studies and submissions from research scholars including doctoral scholars would be considered.

Submission Types

Manuscripts must be in English. The preferred lengths for submissions are as follows:

  1. Special Articles: 8000-10,000 words

  2. Short Articles: 5000–8000 words

  3. Insights/Perspectives: 3500 – 4500 words

  4. Book Reviews: 2500–3000 words

  5. Field Notes/Pictorial Commentaries: 1-2 Pages

All submissions (except Book Reviews) should be accompanied by an abstract of not more than 300 words and 5 important Keywords.
Only manuscripts of sufficient quality that meet the aims and scope of the NLUD Journal on ‘Labour’ will be reviewed. As part of the submission process, you will be required to warrant that you are submitting your original work, that you have the rights to the work, and that you have obtained and can supply all necessary permissions for the reproduction of any copyright works not owned by you, that you are submitting the work for first publication in the Journal and that it is not being considered for publication elsewhere and has not already been published elsewhere.

Authorship

All parties who have made a substantive contribution to the submission should be listed as authors. Principal authorship, authorship order, and other publication credits should be based on the relative scientific or professional contributions of the individuals involved, regardless of their status.

All contributors who do not meet the criteria for authorship should be listed in an acknowledgements section. Examples of those who might be acknowledged include a person who provided purely technical help or a department chair who provided only general support.

To facilitate double blind peer review, authors are advised to refrain from including any personal details or acknowledgements in the main text.

Permissions

Authors are advised to ensure that they have obtained all necessary permission from copyright holders to reproduce any illustrations, tables, figures, or lengthy quotations published elsewhere.

Peer Review

NLUD Journal on ‘Labour’ adheres to a rigorous double-blind peer-review policy in which the identity of both the reviewer and author are always concealed from both parties.

Publishing Policies

Publication Ethics

NLUD Journal on ‘Labour’ is committed to upholding academic and research integrity. Authors are encouraged to refer to the Committee on Publication Ethics’ International Standards for Authors. Submissions not conforming to these guidelines may be returned or rejected. While we strive to provide substantive feedback for every submission we receive, it may not always be possible to do so, given the large number of submissions. We reserve the right to reject submissions if it doesn’t accede to the mandate of the Journal.

Plagiarism

Where a manuscript is found to have plagiarised work or included third-party copyright material without permission or with insufficient acknowledgement, or where the authorship of the article is contested, we reserve the right to take action including, but not limited to, publishing an erratum or corrigendum; retracting the article; taking up the matter with the head of department or dean of the author's institution and/or relevant academic bodies or societies; or taking appropriate legal action.

If submission made to NLUD Journal on ‘Labour’ has already been accepted by another journal or online platform, the author must withdraw their submission. Conversely, if NLUD Journal on ‘Labour’ accepts the contribution first, the author must withdraw it from all other journals and online platforms. Failure to adhere to this policy will result in the removal of the piece from consideration for publication in NLUD Journal on ‘Labour’.

Submission of Manuscript

All submissions must only be made online. Articles mailed directly to any other email ID will not be considered.

Acceptance and Publication

All submissions made to the NLUD Journal on ‘Labour’ would be subject to preliminary scrutiny by the editorial board of the Journal to assess their suitability for inclusion in the journal. If found suitable, the submissions will go through a double-blind peer review process, and the final selection will be based on the outcome of the peer review process. The corresponding author would be notified of the outcome upon completion of the review process. Authors should be prepared to make suitable changes to their articles as required by the Editorial Board before publication. As this is a time-intensive process, we would be unable to provide a definite timeline for the completion of the review process for individual submission.

Proofs will be made available to the corresponding author via email, and corrections should be

made directly or notified to us promptly. All final articles (completed and approved articles awaiting assignment to a future issue) will be published online before their inclusion in a journal issue, significantly reducing the lead time between submission and publication.

Copyright & Open Access Policy

It is a condition of publication that authors grant an exclusive license to NLUD Journal on ‘Labour’. This ensures efficient and consistent handling of requests from third parties to reproduce articles and facilitates wide dissemination of the article. Upon assigning copyright, authors may reuse their own material in other publications, provided that NLUD Journal on ‘Labour’ is acknowledged as the original place of publication and the journal is notified in writing and in advance.

Work submitted for publication must be original, previously unpublished, and not under consideration for publication elsewhere. If previously published figures, tables, or parts of text

are to be included, the copyright holder’s permission must have been obtained prior to submission.
