The government of Jammu & Kashmir, in the exercise of powers conferred by section 62 of the Building and Other Construction Workers (Regulation of Employment and Condition of Services Act, 1996, has brought an amendment to sub-rule (1) of rule 22-T and to rule 22-U in the Jammu & Kashmir Building & Other Construction Workers (Regulation of Employment and Conditions of Services) Rules, 2006. The revised/amended rules are as follows:
Sub rule (1) of Rule 22-T: Beneficiary’s children shall be entitled to financial assistance from the Board in the form of scholarship, stipulated for each class/course, as applicable.
Rule 22-U: The Board shall provide financial assistance of INR 50,000 for the marriage of a construction worker or his/her dependent real sons and daughters. Such assistance shall be restricted to two dependents only; An application for financial assistance for marriage, with all the required documents, shall be made by the applicant at least three months preceding the actual date of marriage or not exceeding two months from the actual date when the marriage has taken place
