Compensation For Accidental Death & Permanent Disability Introduced By The Haryana Government

The State Government of Haryana on January 4th 2024 notified the scheme ‘Mukhyamantri Vyapari Samuhik Niji Durghatna Yojana (MVSNDY) to compensate the beneficiaries in case of accidental death and permanent disability as defined in the scheme. According to this scheme, a ‘Beneficiary’ is an eligible taxpayer registered under GST Act, 2017, is registered on the online portal of this scheme and by whom registration fees has been paid to the Stakeholder who have then transferred it to the Trust. The total amount of compensation that can be claimed for any case of accidental death or permanent disability is 5 lakhs.

 

To avail this scheme, the beneficiary has to register for it through the online portals developed by Haryana Traders Welfare Board (HTWB) and Haryana Parivaar Suraksha Nyas (HPSN) with the annual registration fee of Rs. 10 per lakh or any other amount as may be prescribed. The fee shall be collected by the welfare board (HTWB) and the same shall be transferred to the Trust by HTWB. For the registration, the scheme outlines a detailed procedure mentioning all the required information and documents such as the Name of the Firm; Address; Contact details; Category of the firm (Partnership, LLP, Company, Proprietorship, Hindu Undivided Family, etc.); Type of Business; ID Numbers; etc. In case of any grievance, the same would be addressed by the District/Sub-Divisional Grievance Redressal Committee (DGRC)

 

The scheme obligates the Board to make the eligible Beneficiaries aware of their coverage under the MVSNDY through mediums like advertisement on the portal or other promotional activities. This scheme will come into force from the financial year 2023-24 and the implementing agency for it would be the Haryana Parivar Surakhsa Nyas (HPSN), Government of Haryana in association with the Haryana Traders Welfare Board.
