The Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation launched an online facility for submitting applications for Validation of Option/Joint Options for pension on higher wages. This facility was launched on February 26, 2023 and was made available to the eligible pensioners/members in compliance with the order of the Hon’ble Supreme Court. Initially, the said facility was available only till May 3, 2023, however, upon requests by the Employers & Employers’ Associations, the time limit was extended to September 30, 2023 to submit wage details, etc. online. In September, the time was further extended till December 31st 2023 due to the representations made by the Employers & Employers’ Association. Now, even after the extension till December 31 2023, there are still more than 3.6 lakh applications pending with the employers for Validation of Option/Joint Options. In light of this, the Chairman, CBT EPF has granted another extension period till May 31st 2024, for the employers for uploading wage details online.
