The Employees State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) on July 24, 2023 issued an Internal Circular No. P-11014/3/2022-Bft-II and directed its field functionaries about correction of date of birth of insured persons/insured women beyond three years or more.
The following has been stated in the aforementioned circular:
· ESIC have implemented linking of Aadhaar to the insured persons number on voluntary basis for registration and providing benefits to them and their beneficiaries under the ESI Scheme. The ESIC have clarified that online requests received from Insured Persons relating to correction/updation in their particulars specifically Date of Birth (varying three years or more) may be accepted as per details in their Aadhaar Card which carries specific date of birth.
· All their field functionaries i.e. Regional Directors/Joint Director/ In-charges have been directed to issue direction to all their field offices under their jurisdiction for strict compliance in disposal of all online request for edit/update of IPs and their family particulars as per the above guideline within three days of receipt of the request to mitigate the hardship faced by the them.
