Ghana Ratifies ILO's Work in Fishing Convention, 2007 (No. 188)

On 28 August 2024, Ghana officially ratified the Work in Fishing Convention, 2007 (No. 188), becoming the 22nd country to do so. The Convention, which modernizes ILO fishing regulations, provides a comprehensive legal framework to ensure decent working conditions for fishers. It sets minimum standards for working conditions aboard fishing vessels, covering areas such as occupational safety, accommodation, health, and social security.
