The Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment has, in the exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) and (2) of section 100 of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016, brought in an amendment to the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Rules, 2017. The proposed amendment seeks to insert clause (g) in sub-rule (1) of rule 15. The amendment makes it mandatory for the establishment to comply with the accessibility standards for Healthcare as notified by the Government of India in the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
